I can totally confirm this behavior for a cisco aironet mp in my thinkpad X Cisc isn’t that hard to get to the miniPCI slot under the keyboard. I can confirm this on my Thinkpad X This helped me too. I have tested alpha6 using the LiveCD and I get this error in daemon.
The “lsmod” shows wireoess driver is loaded. I tried stopping the NM and wpasupplicant, but I had another instance of the wpasupplicant running not as root but my account.
